The airfield approach road would look good on the front of a Christmas card |
After heavy overnight snow, the challenge was on to meet our commitment for the airfield to remain manned on every flying day. But, glider pilots are nothing if not resourceful and by 10:30 there was enough instructors and pilots to commence flying operations.
The sky was blue, the westerly wind very light, and the views aloft were stunning.

Brentor church from the air looking west. |
After everyone had had their fill of flying, and with the sun sinking into the western horizon it was back to the clubhouse for tea, mince pies and a warm up next to the woodburner.

Cold on the outside, warm on the inside |
Many thanks to Mike Jardine for the pictures.
