The weather forecast suggested gusty winds from the NNW and a mostly sunny day, and that is exactly what we got.

Today saw Instructor Ged return from his holiday ( Moscow apparently ) ready and needing to fly. He stuck to his task throughout the day even though the conditions aloft were very turbulent in the gusty and sometimes thermic conditions. By the end of the day we had flown 4 visitors, had completed half of a One Day Course, and everyone who wanted to fly had done so.

The only solo flying was by the Astir syndicate G-CJSK, both Scratch and Mike both managed soaring flights with Mike being “Ace of the Base” with a dizzying 34 minutes.

Elsewhere, on the site. John Bolt and Colin Boyd continue with the refurbishment work on the K8 which is now almost complete. Martin Smith completed some tasks on the Pirat before working with Chris Kaminski on a new trailer for their Skylark 3F.
Rick Wiles seemed to be just about everywhere again, upgrading the computer network, negotiating with BT to improve our internet performance, and working on the winches with Allan Holland.
Thanks everyone ( including anyone I missed )
Steve
