The most recent low pressure has passed and today the pressure is starting to build, promising a period of sunny weather. Early today the cloud was low and threatening but it gradually improved to give a nice looking afternoon. As has become normal for the last month or so, the wind was brisk ( 11 to 15knots ) just north of west i.e. aligned with the runway ensuring good launches and easy approaches. Excellent.

K13 GCHXP ready to launch towards a hopefull looking sky |
Today was designated for club pilots and there were several achievements. David Rippon cemented his return to solo status with a couple of stylish extended circuits in the Zugvogel. Dick Masters reappeared after a 7 month absence and had a couple of check flights with Ged in HXP. He later went on to complete a 34 minute soaring flight in the Zugvogel ending with it’s hangar landing.

Something has excited the solo pilots, they suddenly created their own mini grid |
Best flight of the day was by Richard Roberts in his nicely presented K6 CR G-CFHZ who made his 58 minutes look easy during a part of the day when other pilots were struggling to stay in the air.

Richard and his K6CR |
At the hangar end, finishing touches were added to K13 G-DDMX before it’s return to the fleet and Bob and Mike finished off some cosmetic improvements to their already very tidy K8.

Looking like they were caught with their hands in the cookie jar, Bob and Mike continue fettling their already beautiful K8 |
