Today we had a low turn out and those present set about getting the field ready. No teas or coffees were consumed and this enabled the first flight to launch at a very reasonable time of 09:44. Maybe something there now. A k13, K8 and Astir77 were taken to the launch point. Only two trainees today, so they would be able to fill their boots with six flights each.
David Osment was first in the front seat. The first flight was a demonstration of the zig-zag circuit to help him with judgment. Subsequent flights would emable him to improve his circuit planning.

Duty BI Richard Roberts had no visitors today so he volunteered for the first stint on the winch before he had to leave to pop up to North Hill. Next into the K13 with me was Julia Old who hadn't flown for about eight weeks. Today would be spent with plenty of hands on getting back up to speed.

Julia happy to be back flying. |
The few solo pilots would take turns in the Astir 77 and the K8. John Osment started off in the K8 and Sean Westrope and Steve Fletcher made use of the Astir. It was a case of balancing flying with airfield duties to keep things moving.

Thank you to Richard and Sean who did all the winching today. A good days flying for the eight members at the club keeping a smooth running of the airfield. We achieved a respectable 22 launches and some very happy pilots.
